Its exhibitions include original locomotives and engines from the Liverpool & Manchester Railway, the world’s first passenger railway. It also houses the largest collection of working mill steam engines and gas, oil and diesel engines, along with a retrospective on the early days of flying. You can watch a demonstration of Baby, the world’s first stored-program computer designed at Manchester University in 1948, and discover how 3D printing is revolutionising the medical and engineering worlds.
