BIXIGA: A CASE OF LOVE AND TRADITION

Sao Paulo

Ingleses street, 118 - Morro dos Ingleses – Bixiga

Mama Mia, what a beautiful tribute! Bixiga's neighbourhood is blessed with culture and tradition. That is why, since 1981, it houses the Museu Memória do Bixiga (Bixiga Memorial Museum), which tells the story of the Italian immigrants in the region. Pasta making machines, Vai-Vai samba school uniforms - traditional in the neighbourhood - Carmem Miranda shoes, objects by Adoniran Barbosa, more than 8,000 photographs and many other objects are there, many of them donated by the museum's own designer, Armando Puglisi, known as Armandinho do Bixiga. Those who a enjoy a trip into the past can't miss it!
