Campana dei Caduti - Colle di Miravalle

Every night, Maria Dolens (Mary of sorrows), the bell for the Fallen in Rovereto, dedicates 100 tolls to the victims of every war, and the hope for peace. In the years following World War I, Antonio Rossaro, a local priest, wished to commemorate the fallen with the creation of a belltower made of the bronze collected from the cannons of all nations that took part in the conflict. The fourth heaviest bell in the world was placed in piazza Rosmini, on the great tower Malipiero of the Rovereto Castle, and was later moved to the Miravalle hilltop, from which still today it rings to help remember, and stop fighting.
