189 Morska Street, Gdynia

Leszczynki District in Gdynia is a place where you can experience a real-life history lesson. In an overgrown slope, you can find a hidden, oddly-shaped building. It’s an anti-aircraft shelter from the WW2, where convicts from the Nussdorf workcamp were hiding during the bombings. The building was constructed in such a way that its thick walls protected people from explosions, shockwaves and missile slips. The shelter, measuring 180 square meters, has been renovated and is now open to public for anyone willing to discover its history independently.
