Standing at the extreme western end of the bay, the best way to reach the top of Monte Igueldo is by the funicular railway. Running since 1912, it is the oldest in the Basque Country and takes you right up into the Monte Igueldo amusement park. Parents and kids alike will love the park’s ‘olde worlde’ feel and charming old-fashioned rides and attractions. It’s the perfect family outing! You can also visit the five-storey 18th-century Torreón de Igueldo. Located in the centre of the park, this former lighthouse turned scenic viewpoint boasts period features and stunning 360-degree views of San Sebastián, the Bay of La Concha and the neighbouring mountains.
