The Lace Market is the oldest part of Nottingham, with traces of settlement dating back to prehistory. Want to make the kids laugh? The original Saxon town of “Snottingaham” (Anglo-Saxon for “Snot’s people”) was built here. Most of the buildings you see today date from the 19th century, when the Lace Market was established.
