THE DOOR REMAINS THE SAME

Olbia

Mura puniche - Via Torino

As you walk through town, you will find a part of the Punic walls also used in the Roman Ages.
Under Carthaginian rule, Olbia became an authentic city and it required surrounding walls, of which more than 160 feet are still visible today. Citizens entered from the exact same point you will also enter, where a door interrupted the double walls made of large granite bricks, some of which rusticated. Beside the entrance, you’ll see a square base, the remainders of what once was a very tall tower.
Continue your tour of downtown Olbia leaving the ancient entrance behind you, just like the citizens of the city did in no less than 350 Before Christ.
