The small lake at the front of the Villa Niscemi shields a strange thing which can only be made out by more careful looking. The shape of the water mirror is that of Sicily’s shape.
When seen from above, it is striking that in the detail of the outline there is an ulterior element of beauty set in a courtyard which, like the Valguarnera family residence, is dedicated to the leisurely activities of nobles.
The water fills the the Sicily-shaped structure which is surrounded by flowerbeds and blooming trees, thus creating an architectural design steeped in history and an unusual feature.
