The ticchio (climbing plants) and rose decorations are two trademarks of Made in Pesaro ceramics. The art of majolica is present in the city since the 1300s and the lordships, governments, and administrations changing throughout the centuries have always supported and protected this important traditional handcraft that lives to this day thanks to the work of modern ceramics designers. The green-painted jugs with their typical elongated shape, the decorations with Spanish and Arab influences, and the plates – as sophisticated as paintings – that tell stories and legends, are some of the artifacts produced in Pesaro and exhibited in its Museo delle Ceramiche (ceramics museum).
