The Museum of Liverpool tells the story of the city through various exhibitions: costume and decorative art, entomological and botanical collections, social and urban history, oral testimonies, archaeological material, photographic archives and, of course, Beatles memorabilia. One of the themed areas, ‘The Great Port’, boasts a stunning display of engines and machinery showing how this then thriving port developed during the industrial age, transforming Liverpool into one of the most important cities in Europe. Entrance to the Museum is free.
